The quality of this video is really not great, but the advice offered here is worth listening to.  As a writer of fiction I found what Elmore Leonard has to say about how he writes really fascinating!

Some great advice on self publishing – sounds good to me!

I haven’t actually got the chance to read one of Diana Athill’s books yet, although I’ve dipped into quite a few in bookshops and on Amazon, I think one of her books will be next on my book list.  I love to see interviews with her, because she has such a fab attitude to life.  Humorous, cheerful and not afraid to use an occasional swear word, for a woman in her 90’s I think she is a truly remarkable lady!

Jon McGregor’s book ‘If Nobody Speaks Of Remarkable Things’ is a favourite book of mine.  His writing was the kind I had been waiting to read for years!  It changed my ideas about how to write, and pushed me forward into another direction.

  1. PS. I’m not sure why it took me this long to think of it, but I finally tweeted and Linked In the link to The Writing Garden and my ‘Dog’ story. 🙂

    1. Oh thank you Pamela, very good of you!♥ Don’t worry, you’re not the only one who forgets, I do a lot of that too. There’s so much to remember, so many people to get back to, it’s amazing we remember anything at all! 😉

    1. I love finding new videos of what writers have to say, I’m sure over time this page will get much longer with additions. Thanks so much for taking a look! 🙂

    1. Oh, thank you – I do try to be entertaining, in more ways than one! These are some of my favourite authors and some brilliant interviews of theirs. I thought it would be good to spread their enthusiasm for writing a little further! 😀

    1. Oh yes, the writers page, I often forget this is here! I thought it would be good to gather all the interesting ones I found together, I must go looking for some more soon. Very pleased to hear you enjoyed it! 😀

    1. Hello Jim – that was a surprise!! 🙂 I’m always fishing on You Tube for something interesting, and had most of these saved on my computer, thought it would be good to share them from You Tube – and all the other videos I like as well!! There aren’t a lot of authors I really like, but these ones I find intriguing!

WordPress has given you a very green spectacled gravatar here – good job Jottify doesn’t do that! I think you really should go for that photo Jim! 😀

    1. Thank you, glad you found it of interest! Yes I saw the Ian Rankin interview on iPlayer, someone posted a notice about it on the community section. I thought it was really interesting, he comes across as a very down to earth man!
