Winter – Tori Amos

One of my favourite Tori Amos songs from the 90’s, from her album Little Earthquakes.Β  Goes quite well with this beautifully shot winter scene!

    1. It is pretty – winter wonderland! πŸ™‚ Never heard her!!?? Oh well, you have some good music to discover! If you click on the link here it goes to a You Tube video, her entire album Little Earthquakes. It was the first album of hers I ever heard, and is probably still my favourite – such a deep thinking lady, I love her music!! πŸ™‚

    1. It’s a little while since I’ve heard that song myself, some of her songs are very powerful – and this is one of those. And yes, this photography is beautiful, such a good memory of winter! πŸ™‚

  1. Beautiful song and video. Of course, you know you had me at the snow on the bench. Was that a Great Blue Heron in the video? What the heck is he doing there? He should have flown south for the winter. We have them here and I enjoy them. πŸ˜‰

    1. You miss the snow!! πŸ˜€ I had to ask my brother about the Heron, he knows more about them than I do. It’s a Grey Heron, not a blue one, the black and white film doesn’t help identify it! We don’t have Blue Herons in Britain, as far as I know.
I don’t think they always migrate during the winter season here – depends on availability for food I suspect! πŸ™‚ They do look elegant and people sort of love/hate them here. If you’re into birds you love them. But iIf you’re into fish, and have many in a pond – you hate them. Because they will use your pond like a fish market!! πŸ˜€

      1. I’m not sure if the Great Blue Herons migrate. I’ve seen them in Central New York and here in Melbourne, Florida. They are beautiful.

I spent at least 20 minutes one day at a nature center in Baldwinsville, New York watching a Great Blue Heron. It was stock still all that time and then – wham! – it caught its dinner. I understand the love/hate relationship … not wanting your private fish pond turned into a sushi bar for birds. πŸ˜†

    1. Thank you Robert, that’s so sweet of you!β™₯ Blog of the year 2013 – sounds very prestigious that award!! πŸ™‚ I’ll have to accept in gratefulness only because I don’t do the blog award thing here, mainly because of the time it takes – I hope you won’t mind? But I really appreciate that you thought to include me in your nominations, that means a lot! πŸ˜€

I hope you are keeping well, and not covered in snow yet! πŸ˜‰

      1. You’re most welcome! Ha, it does sound prestigious doesn’t it. No problem. That’s why I made it a point to say don’t worry about the accepting protocols. You have always been a dedicated reader and commentor πŸ™‚

        1. You were a dedicated reader and commenter on mine as well this year – according to my WordPress annual report! πŸ™‚ Ah yes – holidays, too much going on, I know the feeling!

It’s been great to talk with you Robert, and I’ve learnt a lot from knowing you, even if it is in text, the souls of people still come through to me. I hope this year is a good one for you, and you get nearer to what you need. ‘Give up never’ is a great motto – one I shall remember, always connected to you, the man who never gave up! πŸ™‚

          1. ha, well i guess we were both guilty in that department then. that means a lot, thank you. and i agree, there is a lot we can gather about each other through words. for instance the thought provoking and heartfelt responses that i can count on from you give me a good idea of your great heart. i hope so to. onward we shall go suzy closer to turning our dreams into reality πŸ™‚

  2. I simply love this singer… I was hummin’ “bouncing off clouds” earlier… πŸ™‚ my very best and have a serene end of this year, a wonderful 2014! cheers, MΓ©lanie
